Lifepoint Informatics Secure Agent is a PC based application that resides on the practice/physician’s workstation to deliver patient results either in the form of printed reports or EMR order and result files. Report delivery to workstations is made by connecting to one of Lifepoint’s PDF servers by running a secure Webservice. LPI Secure Agent is set up based on user configuration in the Lifepoint Web Provider Portal.
LPI Secure Agent uses HTTPS SSL Webservices, as opposed to FTP, and encrypted zips to further 
ensure PHI data security. With the ability to configure inbox views, users are able to download results to their workstations and view them per their specifications. LPI Secure Agent can also upload order entry data from the client EMR or EHR to EMRHub. This connection is created using information entered in the Secure Agent Options screens to login and query the database based on the practice definition.
LPI Secure Agent runs as a Windows Service in the background. At predesignated times it securely connects to InfoHub and searches for new results to be printed or downloaded and/or upload electronic order messages created by the EMR.
