(Patient Service Center)
Today’s insurance regulations often mandate patient specimen collection be conducted at designated labs or “Draw Stations,” as opposed to at the physician’s office. This creation of a separate Patient Service Center takes the onus of collecting blood work and other specimens off the physician and his or her staff, thereby reducing error and streamlining workflow.
Lifepoint Informatics PSC software is designed to improve patient compliance with the often perceived as “inconvenient” process of going to a separate facility for specimen collection. It provides patients with clear and unambiguous requisitions, along with clear instructions and printed-out maps to point them to the nearest Patient Service Center.
At the Patient Service Center the software is designed to be able to edit orders, change collection times, collect specimens, and then release orders.
